Give God His Due
Give to the Lord the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his presence. Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor. — 1 Chronicles 16:29 (New Living Translation)
Humans were created to worship — it’s a basic instinct that dwells within every person. So strong is that inner urging, that if you don’t worship God, you will seek out some other person or object to focus your affections on. The Bible refers to those other things as “idols,” and they have always been a stumbling block for believers.
Tonight, we have the opportunity to give God His due as performers and worshipers.
For those of us serving in the Maundy Thursday program, it is our distinct privilege to serve and Honor God as the Edgewater congregation witnesses something they may have never witnessed before. For those attending this service, it may be the opportunity for them to turn their life over to Jesus Christ.
God’s Will shall reign tonight as we serve our Lord in Honor of His final night with His brothers.
