God is my strong fortress, and he makes my way perfect. — 2 Samuel 22:33 (NLT)

For most men, the pursuit of strength begins in childhood. It’s the result of a man’s God-given instinct to be self-sufficient and able to defend himself and others. So where should a man look for strength? Where do you look?

Here are a few suggestions:

  • Accept the fact that you have weaknesses.
  • Allow God to show you where you need His strength.
  • Believe that God will empower you when you are weak.
  • Accept God’s strength in your life.
  • Remind yourself that you are not alone in your struggles.
  • Realize spiritual strength building is a long-term process.
  • Release your will to God.

I love you, Lord; you are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. — Psalm 18:1-2 (NLT)
